2000

Lake El'gygytgyn Travelogue. I spent the summer of 2000 in the Russian Far East. This trip turned out to be quite the adventure. Click here to read lot's of good stories and see pictures of an amazing place.

 

 

 

 

 

2002

 

Our home is our Castle. Kristin and I live in a cabin we are building ourselves. We heat with wood, power with solar, and don't have running water. Click here to see some pictures.

2003

Antarctic Travelogue. I spent the winter of 2002/2003 in West Antarctica. The trip was so successful that the story isn't very exciting, and the scenery was pretty much flat and white. Click here if you've got some time on your hands.

 

 

 

 

 

McCall Glacier Travelogue. We spent two weeks in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge studying McCall Glacier in May 2003. It is a beautiful area and we had a very successful trip. Click here to read about it and see the pictures.

2009

Los Angeles to Fairbanks, January 2009. We spent a month buying a plane to support our field work, flying it from California back home in winter. The trip did not go as planned, but it was filled with adventures. Click here to learn more.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fairbanks to Denver, February 2009. We spent two weeks driving a rented U-Haul carrying a home-made freezer filled with McCall Glacier ice cores collected in 2008 to the National Ice Core Laboratory in Denver. Click here to learn more.

 

 

 

 

 

 

2010
